You will of course, need to have set up an account with MailChimp, and created a list.
You need to have a WordPress website, with a business or developer licensed version of the Gravity Forms plugin installed. You need these paid licenses so you can also get all of the add-ons, specifically the MailChimp add-on. (“add-on” essentially means “plugin”). When Gravity Forms is installed, you can click on forms in your WordPress dashboard, and then Add-ons. Find the MailChimp add-on, and, well, add it! It will add it to your plugins page.
Summary of Steps:
1. In your MailChimp list, go to Manage Subscribers, Groups, and add a hidden Group.
2. Add a form in your WordPress site.
3. Add a page to put your form into (or add it to an existing page or post, or create a new landing page).
4. Add a “Thank you” page to direct people to after they hit submit where they can download your opt-in gift (PDF, audio, video, jpg files)
5. Set-up your automation campaigns in MailChimp

Video: Where to get your MailChimp API key
Installing Gravity Forms on your website is very straightforward, just like any other plugin. You do have to go to the Settings in the new Forms menu that appears in your WordPress dashboard after you install the plugin, and add your tracking code that Gravity Forms provides at the time of purchase.
Next you need to install the MailChimp Addon, which can be found under the Forms menu in your dashboard, and then MailChimp. Click install, and then it’s just like installing any other plugin.
Now, I don’t want you to get tripped up installing the MailChimp add-on so below is a bonus video that shows you how to get an API key so that you can finish the set-up of the MailChimp add-on. The API key is necessary for Gravity Forms to know which MailChimp account to sync back and forth with.
